Foreword by the Executive Director
The order situation, as well as the overall economic performance were better than expected in 2007/2008. And there is more good news: on our own accord we were able to carry out urgently required renovation work, as well as improving our vehicle fleet and the workshop equipment. Thereby we were able to continue modernizing the company.
The success of the ART for ART Theaterservice GmbH lies in the excellent teamwork between the Vienna State Opera, the Volksoper Wien, the Burgtheater, the Akademietheater, and the Federal Theater Holding, as well as the dedication of the employees, and targeted investment activities, which led to an increase in personnel efficiency and enhanced the deployment of funds. The next projects have already been planned. The implementation of new machines and the construction of an additional storage depot will further increase the company’s profitability.
It is currently not possible to predict how the world economic crisis will affect the Theaterservice GmbH. However, the crisis makes it impressively clear, that profits only have a long-term value, if they are acquired through solid work and not on the basis of trade bubbles. Viewed in this light, we can continue on our path with confidence.
The Theaterservice GmbH has a solid economic basis, offering security to its employees and reliability to its business partners.
